Idealized Image has extensive experience in all areas of photograpy and videography. The following prices are good to use to get an idea of general costs and what they include. The prices for reprints are exact.
Before you continue, always keep in mind that you should meet the photographer who is actually going to shoot your particular event, not just the salesperson. The relationship between yourself and the photographer can make or break an event.
Hourly event photography is $150 per hour, with a two hour minimum, plus expenses. Daily shoot costs generally average between $1100-$1600 Cdn:
For an example we'll give the details associated with a wedding. Approximately $800-$1000 covers all film, processing and proofing costs, as well as the Photographer, cameras, lighting and related equipment. Additional expenses can be incurred from extended travel or unusually long hours. The above price would be for a six hour day of shooting, and up to 50km travel, and would leave you with up to 200 proofs! Our enlargements and reprints cost a lot less than you might think for truly professional photos. There is a great quality difference between amateur and professional labs, and we only use the best.
Image ownership policy:
After we receive full payment YOU OWN all the negatives, something few other photographers allow: This means that you can get as many reprints later on as you want without paying the sometimes exorbitant reprint prices other photographers charge. It also leaves you as the owner of ALL of the proofs (4"x5" and 4"x6"), which is also something few other photographers allow. Both of these policies save you money! In addition, we number or "code" the proofs so that not only can you use them directly in your album or as gifts, but will always be able to find the exact negative that corresponds with each proof.
If you prefer we can do the negative handling and reprinting for you, more inexpensively than you'd think.
Idealized Image reserves the right to use any image from any shoot for self-promotion and other uses unless otherwise negotiated in advance, and retains the copyright on all images.
